Discrimination

lundi 7 mai 2018, par Franck Halatre, Vincent BIDAULT

Despite the legislative advances, the information and awareness campaigns and the interventions of actors in the field, discrimination does not diminish in France. It seems to us that the fight against all forms of discrimination must first pass through the awareness of our own fears, unconsciously projected on others.

It is through the understanding and sharing of our respective representations that we can consider the other in its subjectivity and difference.

As part of the call for projects against discrimination launched by the city of Poitiers in 2013, we proposed the game Feelings as a tool for reflection and prevention for local associations concerned by the subject.

Based on empathy, simple and accessible to all audiences, Feelings brings into play affects in a playful climate.

Faced with situations related to a given discrimination, everyone is led to identify and recognize their own feelings as well as those of others, without judgment or condemnation.

Based on the 20 criteria of discrimination prohibited by law, we created 150 situations.

We believe that this experience of playful mediation, if it is regularly practiced, can allow everyone to distance themselves from their initial emotional reactions, or even to start questioning their certainties, in their relation to themselves and to each other. . Thanks to the prize awarded in June 2014 by the solidarity and local cohesion service of the city of Poitiers, fifty boxes were printed locally and distributed to associative structures.
